Please join us Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. for the American Heart Associations’ Heart and Stroke Walk.  This year, our goal is to have 750 family and friends of TMCA/CMP join in the fun.

What is the Heart and Stroke Walk?

The 2010 Start! Denver Heart and Stroke Walk is an annual fundraising event featuring 3.2 mile and 1 mile non-competitive walk routes. The Heart Walk is designed to bring public awareness to physical activity and a heart-healthy lifestyle, while raising critical dollars to fund the life-saving mission of the American Heart Association.

Location of Walk:

Denver Performing Arts Complex (Speer Blvd. and Arapahoe St.)
1103 13th Street
 Denver, CO

Parking:

Parking is available at no cost at The Performing Arts Complex Parking Garage. There are 1500 spaces that will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

How can staff participate?

Walk or donate.

  • Walk on June 5, and invite family and friends to walk with the TMCA team
  • Participate by donating financially and inviting friends and family to donate

How can walkers register?

  • Walkers can register at: www.denverheartwalk.org
  • Walkers can also register on paper with their department team leader.
  • There is no cost to participate.  Walkers are asked to consider raising a donation of $50.

Why should people participate?

  • It’s a great community event to support and a fun way to fulfill our community involvement commitments for our annual staff evaluations.
  • All hospital staff who walks will receive one TMCA walk T-shirt to wear the day of the walk.
  • If we have shirts still available, family who come to the walk may be able to get a T-shirt at the TMCA/CMP tents, until quantities run out.
  • The first 500 walkers to arrive will also get a special gift!

Please contact your department walk leader with questions or Stephanie Manley at 303-695-2684 or Sandy Vogeler at (303) 368-2502.
