Neurorehabilitation

An injury to the brain or central nervous system can seriously affect a person's ability to perform a variety of tasks. Neurorehabilitation can help improve a person's ability to function independently after being diagnosed with conditions such as:

When a patient is admitted to The Medical Center of Aurora for a stroke or central nervous system disorder, we begin aggressive physical, occupational and/or speech therapy as soon as the patient is capable.

In addition, we have developed a comprehensive care program with the nearby Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, a licensed acute rehabilitation center that specializes in neurological rehabilitation. This relationship allows patients to transition smoothly from the acute hospital setting into a rehabilitation facility.

Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital offers unique programs and services for stroke and brain injury survivors. Spalding's proven outcomes exceed most neurological rehabilitation facilities in the western United States. Certifications and associations include:

• Many team members are Certified Brain Injury Specialists
• Spalding is the only CARF-accredited inpatient Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program in Colorado
